Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway is approved in the House of Representatives April 12 2023 .

The Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway is now approved April 12, 2023 in the House of Representatives. It was approved by the House Ways & Means Committee today at the Minnesota State Capitol, Representative Lucy Rehm was present for the hearing and approval. Next step is to pass the Minnesota Senate.


The stretch of highway that is designated of Highway 5 is from Hazeltine Boulevard in Chanhassen to Mitchell Road in Eden Prairie, a length of 7 miles. The number 7 is significant in honor of Prince. The signs will be Purple, which also holds special significance in honor of Prince Rogers Nelson.


Prince Rogers Nelson would be 65 this year, so this is a very special honor for his legacy of Paisley Park and his global influence on the music industry.
